Church burglarized twice in three days, and more [true religion jeans]

The following items were taken from Oak Park police records Nov. 14.

Armed Robbery

A 25- to 35-year-old man with a heavy build and wearing a black leather jacket, baggy blue jeans and a brown baseball cap stole $80 from a 47-year-old woman on the 600 block of West Roosevelt Road at 12:20 a.m. Nov. 14. Police said the man approached the woman, pointed a handgun at her head and demanded money. The woman stood still while the man took the money from her pocket. He then fled on foot into an alley.

Theft Arrest

A 16-year-old male juvenile of Berwyn was arrested on the 1000 block of South Humphrey Avenue at 6:60 p.m. Nov. 13 and charged with theft. Police said they stopped the teenager for riding a bicycle at night without a light. The bicycle had an Oak Park registration sticker and police found that it was reported stolen Nov. 7.

Attempted Theft

A 35- to 40-year-old man wearing a brown jacket and black jeans tried to steal $10 from a 12-year-old boy on the 200 block of Lake Street at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 12. Police said the man approached the boy and asked for change, and the boy displayed a $10 bill and said it was all he had. The man took the bill and began to walk away. The boy yelled, ‘police,' the man returned and said, ‘Come on man, don't do that,' and gave the money back.

Burglary

A transistor radio and five CDs were stolen from a vehicle parked on the 800 block of South Grove Avenue between 3:30 p.m. Nov. 12 and 10:15 a.m. Nov. 13. The passenger's side window was shattered. Loss and damage is estimated at $113.

A factory-installed stereo was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of South Oak Park Avenue between 8:30 a.m. and 6:23 p.m. Nov. 12. The side window was shattered. Loss and damage is estimated at $300.

A soundboard, a computer monitor, a printer, a mixer board and a wireless microphone were stolen from Austin Boulevard Christian Church, 634 N. Austin Blvd., in two separate burglaries. The first occurred between 3 p.m. Nov. 10 and 4 p.m. Nov. 11 and the second was between 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 12. In both cases, it is not known how the business was entered, but interior locks were broken. Loss and damage is estimated at $2,729.

Property Damage

The rear window of a vehicle parked on the 1100 block of Lyman Avenue was shattered between 6:30 and 7:50 p.m. Nov. 13. Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle. Damage is estimated at $200.

The lock on a wooden gate was broken by force on the 1000 block of North Taylor Avenue between 9:15 and 11:15 a.m. Nov. 13.

A sharp object was used to scratch the side and hood of a vehicle parked on the 500 block of North Grove Avenue between 11 p.m. Nov. 12 and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 13. Damage is estimated at $500.

A sharp object was used to scratch the side of a vehicle parked on the 500 block of North Kenilworth Avenue between 6 p.m. Nov. 12 and 11 a.m. Nov. 13. Damage is estimated at $500.

A sharp object was used to scratch a vehicle parked on the 500 block of North Grove Avenue between 3:30 p.m. Nov. 12 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 13. A damage estimate was not available.

A sharp object was used to scratch both sides of a vehicle parked in a driveway on the 800 block of West Chicago Avenue between 10:30 p.m. Nov. 12 and 7:15 a.m. Nov. 13. Damage is estimated at $1,600.

The word “go” was spray-painted with white paint on the passenger's side door of a vehicle parked on the 700 block of North Kenilworth Avenue between 5:30 p.m. Nov. 12 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 13. Damage is estimated at $300.

The driver's side window of a vehicle parked on the 1100 block of Wesley Avenue was shattered between 6 and 6:28 p.m. Nov. 12. Nothing was reported stolen from the vehicle. Damage is estimated at $200.
